Quality is Key
LIDAR captures a wealth of valuable information about the world. In order to maximise value from this data, it needs to be processed using a range of geospatial tools and techniques. Due to the large size of LIDAR datasets, it is often necessary to use cloud computing and parallel processing systems for validation, testing, and reporting of LIDAR point clouds. Some of the aspects to consider when working with LIDAR data include point density, the device scan angle, horizontal and vertical accuracy, and flight line overlap.
